American bitten by shark in the Bahamas

An American man visiting the Bahamas was treated after being bitten by a pup (baby shark) in Grand Bahama.

According to the police, the incident reportedly occurred around 1 pm on Sunday in waters near Sandy Cay.

Preliminary reports reveal that the 29-year-old male victim was fishing along with six friends onboard a vessel when he caught the pup.

The man reportedly tried to remove a fishhook from the mouth of the pup, when he was bitten on his right hand.

The injuries are said to be serious but not fatal.
